It’s all about Matter.
The Studio was created by Marie-France de Crécy in 2012.
It's located in Saint-Ouen (93) at 14 rue Palouzié.

It's lead by Marie-France de Crécy with a team of approximately ten people,
their number varying according to the works to be created.

Two major guidelines
underlie the Studio's artistic creation

A new definition of beauty

Beauty is at the heart of the Studio's activity but it's considered in an original way. It's perceived as a source of wonder, inspiration and sharing. It can be found both in the result and in the process of creation. It meets the rules of luxury but is also open to rejects and to recycled material. It's the fruit of a new artistic, organic and ornamental expression which seeks itself in elements such as defects, accidents, flaws and imperfections.

Linked to nature and with an anthropocene vision, the Studio ties a very strong bond with nature, most of the time in an abstract, mysterious and poetic way.

Aware of the significant impact of human activities on the ecosystem, the Studio observes these harmful consequences on nature.

It tries to sublimate damaged nature through artistic propositions which have a saving quality in their beauty.

In search of meaning

To give meaning.
The Studio shows a strong will to find meaning in working methods, in the bonds that connect us to each other, in our connection with nature, cities, society in the future...

To take part in change.
The Studio's wish is to take an active part in change because it feels that this can only be done in a collective way, in synergy. It considers that it's necessary to commit oneself, to be involved in the fight to save our planet, to prepare a true mutation in order to get back to more human scales in harmony with nature.

What we do
An artistic production
The Studio produces an artistic creation around Material, originally textile and embroidery.

The creations are varied : installations, frescoes, objects, 3D settings, scenographies, films...
The Studio's creations include all kinds of materials such as moss, ceramic, wood, brushed metal, conglomerates, resins, recycled plastic, etc.

How we do it
The team
It consists in people from various and complementary backgrounds.

Their talents are diverse : on the one hand a capacity to create, to work, to accomplish manual tasks on small-scale, and on the other hand an ability to supervise, to control, to lead a project, to hand down, to analyze, to synthesize, to draft, etc.

The team is united in a same vision and the desire and need to work together without any hierarchy. Sharing and exchanging are enriched by the fact that the people have had various kinds of training with cultures of different origins.

Open and innovative, the Studio ensures a kind of monitoring of its environment, of the news, of its sector of activity which reinforces its desire to commit itself more and more every day. Thanks to this, it seizes opportunities to initiate and share for instance a working method, an artistic methodology, a reflection regarding tomorrow's society, etc.

In order to do so and if necessary, the Studio can appeal to external actors such as philosophers, ethnologists, researchers, consultants, economists... who bring a positive and complementary contribution to the Studio's vision.
